I really loved this album. It’s such an easy, satisfying listen — warm, bluesy, and just psychedelic enough to keep things interesting. There’s so much comfort to it. Ten Years After might not reinvent the wheel here, but they absolutely nail what they’re going for: rich blues rock grooves, a touch of folk, and melodies that never wear out. I’d Love to Change the World deserves every bit of classic status it has, and I’ve Been There Too is another standout that hits just as hard. It’s the kind of record that reminds me why I love this era of music so much — smooth, soulful, and endlessly replayable. This album makes me wanna break stuff! 🤘🏼 I’m new to the Megadeth fandom (and wow, they’ve gone through a lot of members) but Rust in Peace instantly showed me why it’s considered an essential metal classic. That said, I’ve got to be honest: Dave Mustaine’s vocals are (sometimes) very rough to my ears. Someone once said he sounds like SpongeBob fronting a metal band, and now I can’t unhear it… because they’re not wrong 😭 (listen to Tornado of Souls and tell me I have no grounds to stand on lol). It’s not deal-breaking, but it does make me wish for a version with vocals that matched the band’s insanely stellar musicianship. The guitar solos are some of the most tuneful and technically impressive I’ve ever heard in metal, full of melody and precision without losing any of the aggression. It’s easy to see why this one’s called a masterpiece of thrash. The songwriting, solos, and production are remarkable, and the whole thing feels way more timeless than a lot of other metal from that era. Overall, I did love this album and it absolutely rips - it officially made me more of a thrash metal fan than I ever thought I’d be. ••• #musicdiscovery #musicreview #albumreview #musicrecommendations #metalmusic
